Becky Pendergast
Becky Pendergast is a Special Education Teacher at New Fairfield Elementary School who is deeply committed to helping every child succeed. She has a strong passion for creating adaptive opportunities that allow all students to participate, learn, and thrive. Becky believes that activities and athletics should be accessible to every child, and she works hard to ensure that programs can be modified to meet the unique needs of each individual.
In addition to her work in education, Becky is heavily involved in athletics and cheerleading. She serves as a competitive cheer judge for Varsity Spirit Brands and is the Cheerleading Coach at Western Connecticut State University, where she mentors collegiate athletes and helps them develop both their technical skills and confidence. Becky strongly believes that mastering fundamentals is the foundation of success in athletics. By focusing on strong basics, athletes build confidence, discipline, and the ability to grow.
She also believes that athletics and academics are closely connected, as sports teach important life skills such as hard work, perseverance, and resilience—qualities that help students succeed both in the classroom and in life.
